October Leadership Training Recap for Scholarship Beneficiaries

The October Leadership Training for scholarship beneficiaries of Flickers of Hope Foundation focused on “Standing Up for Safety: Understanding and Responding to Abuse and Bullying.” The session aimed to equip beneficiaries with the knowledge and confidence to recognize abuse and bullying, understand their rights, protect themselves, and seek help from trusted adults when necessary.

During the training, beneficiaries learned about different forms of abuse and bullying, how to identify unsafe situations, and the importance of speaking up rather than suffering in silence. Emphasis was placed on personal safety, self-respect, respect for others, and the need to treat everyone with kindness and dignity.

The session also encouraged beneficiaries to understand that abuse and bullying are never acceptable and that no one deserves to be mistreated. They were guided on appropriate ways to respond to bullying, report concerns to trusted adults, and support friends who may be experiencing abuse or intimidation.

The training reinforced the importance of creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment at home, in school, and within the community. Beneficiaries were encouraged to demonstrate courage, empathy, and responsibility by standing against bullying and seeking help whenever they or others feel unsafe.
