The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of registration for the 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
The registration period commences today and will run until February 24, 2024. The announcement was made by Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB Registrar, during a media briefing in Lagos State.
Oloyede assured a smooth registration process and emphasized the board’s commitment to thorough accreditation of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
To register, candidates must create a profile using their National Identity Number at various CBT centres nationwide. They can use JAMB USS codes 55019 or 66019 to generate their profiles. Oloyede stressed the importance of this process as a verification tool for thumb printing, which marks the completion of the registration. The registration fee is set at N3,500, and payments will be cashless to prevent any form of extortion.
JAMB has accredited 747 CBT centres for the 2024 UTME, an increase of 134 centres compared to the previous year. Among the accredited centres, Lagos has the highest number with 80, followed by Ogun with 44 and Oyo with 42. On the other hand, Zamfara has the fewest accredited centres at 6, while Ebonyi and Kebbi both have 8. According to an analysis by a news agency, the South-West geopolitical zone has the highest number of CBT centres with 226, while the North-East has the lowest with 67.
JAMB is focused on maintaining a fair and efficient examination process for all candidates.
