The May 2024 edition of the Leadership Training was held on Saturday, 10th May 2024. Our focus for May was “Forgiveness”
It was an interesting and interactive session that was aimed at educating the students on how to develop the habit of forgiveness, also emphasizing on why they should forgive.
Some beneficiaries gave beautiful presentations on their understanding of the topic, afterward we had a discussion around it.

They were taught that Forgiveness is the act of pardoning an offender. It means letting go of a wrong doing or offense. They were made to understand that, forgiveness is a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who have offended or harmed you, regardless of, if they deserve your forgiveness.
The beneficiaries were made to understand that forgiveness is a choice, and it’s a good choice; They also learnt the benefits of forgiving others. This includes, Forgiveness allows us to overcome feelings of anger, bitterness, or revenge. Forgiveness can help to heal the wounds faster and bring you peace. Not forgiving others can cage you, and affect your relationship and dealings with other people. Also, understanding that we hurt others too, maybe unknowingly and also need forgiveness. Not forgiving others may cause you to begin to hurt other people unintentionally, or even withdraw from others, and people begin to see you as a bad person because of the character you are displaying.
Another keynote was the act of forgiving oneself. They were taught to show mercy and offer forgiveness to themselves whenever they made mistakes.
End note: Life is 10% what happens to you and 90%how you react to it
We also had computer training for JSS 3 and senior classes, while creative writing was for JSS 1 and JSS 2 students .Generally, it was an educative moment and we look forward for more impactful sessions.
