At Flickers of Hope Foundation, we believe that one of the most meaningful ways to create a lasting legacy is by investing in the lives and futures of others. Education has the power to open doors, restore hope, build confidence, and transform the trajectory of a child’s life.
It is with this belief that we are pleased to introduce the Olusegun OLADELE Scholarship Fund, a personalized scholarship established under the Flickers of Hope Scholarship Fund and launched in September 2026.
A Scholarship Built on Legacy
The Olusegun OLADELE Scholarship is more than an educational sponsorship. It is a commitment to giving children an opportunity to continue their education despite circumstances that may otherwise prevent them from remaining in school.
The scholarship fund was established with a vision of creating memories, impacting lives, and contributing meaningfully to the future of children through education. It is a practical expression of the belief that when we invest in a child’s education, we are not only changing the life of that child but also contributing to the development of families, communities, and future generations.
At Flickers of Hope Foundation, we are honoured to share in this responsibility and partner in ensuring that the memory and legacy behind this scholarship fund continues to live on through the lives of the children it supports.
A Six-Year Commitment to Education
The Olusegun OLADELE Scholarship Fund is designed to support each beneficiary for a period of six years, providing sustained educational assistance throughout an important stage of their academic journey.
The fund currently supports three children, who were enrolled in school as beneficiaries of the scholarship as of September 2026.
The scholarship provides support for essential educational needs, including:
- School enrolment and related fees
- School uniforms
- Writing materials and stationery
- Basic textbooks
- Transportation stipends
- Other essential educational needs, where necessary
Through this support, the Foundation seeks to reduce some of the financial barriers that can prevent children from enrolling in school or continuing their education.
However, our commitment goes beyond financial assistance.
More Than Financial Support
At Flickers of Hope Foundation, we understand that children need more than school fees and educational materials to thrive. They also need encouragement, guidance, mentorship, positive role models, and an environment that helps them develop academically and personally.
For this reason, the Foundation closely monitors the scholarship fund and the progress of its beneficiaries. The children are also engaged in mentorship and informal learning sessions designed to support their personal development, values, leadership skills, confidence, and overall growth.
Our goal is to help these children not only stay in school but also make the most of the opportunity they have been given.
We want them to understand that their circumstances do not have to determine the limits of their future.
Meet the 2026/2027 Beneficiaries
For the 2026/2027 academic session, the Olusegun OLADELE Scholarship Fund has welcomed three exceptional and promising children into the scholarship family.
These are young school leavers who, due to certain challenges, were unable to resume school alongside their peers. Their desire and potential to continue their formal education remained, but circumstances created a barrier between them and the classroom.
The Olusegun OLADELE Scholarship Fund has chosen to step in at this important point in their lives, providing them with an opportunity to return to school and continue building the future they envision.
For these three children, this scholarship represents more than a place in a classroom. It represents a second chance, renewed hope, opportunity, and the assurance that someone believes in their potential.
We look forward to seeing them learn, grow, overcome challenges, discover their abilities, and pursue their dreams.
Sustaining a Legacy Through Lives
A legacy is not only remembered through words; it can also be seen in the lives that have been touched and transformed.
Every school uniform purchased, every textbook provided, every journey to school made possible, and every child who remains in school because of this fund becomes part of the legacy of the Olusegun OLADELE Scholarship Fund.
We believe that years from now, the true measure of this scholarship will not simply be the number of children supported, but the stories of what those children went on to become.
Perhaps one will become a teacher who educates others. Another may become a doctor, entrepreneur, engineer, leader, or professional. Whatever path they choose, we hope they will carry with them the values, knowledge, and opportunities made possible through this scholarship.
And perhaps, one day, they too will have the opportunity to give someone else the chance that was once given to them.
That is how a legacy continues.
