NIGERIA ARISE! THERE IS HOPE
Nigeria arise, awake from thy slumber
Your strength and power is in dignity of democracy
Do not ponder on your mental injury
Let you spirit fly high there is hope
Because your future is bright
And you know way out of the raw pain of suffering in plenty.
Nigeria arise, from the face of smothering economy
Renew thy strength like an eagle
The bad dogs are gone
Shed thy old skin and show forth thy new color
Because a new era brings a bright
and a new beginning.
Nigeria arise, from a senseless and stifling system
Nigeria a new era is coming
An era where dreams
And hope will come, sincerity and dignity of labor
And era with a future, to greet with surplus and abundance
A rhythm so sweet to dance to
Oh; Nigeria my country!
Nigeria arise, there is hope
A growing nation must not slumber
Shake off all shackles of blame and cowardice
And embrace wisdom for absolute growth
Your prosperity is in your transparency
You can be there, only be strong in your vast disparities
Nigeria arise, from escalating corruption
A new Nigeria is arising as a star in the moon
Of both old and young
People that will illuminate
Our paths to greatness are waiting to be crowned
Nigeria arise for your time is now
For future and hope is born
In this great land of milk and honey.
THE TRANSFORMING POWER OF EDUCATION
A force with mighty power
A force that can unleash and transform higher
Education needs to be a transformer
In order to break the chains of ignorance who is a deformer
The chain that has taken hold
Keeping us in bondage cold
Through education power lens
We can rise and shine with pens
Above all possibilities
From our crippled abilities
The future of our proven vibrancy
Depends solely on the grip of her resonance
Let’s empower our minds to embrace growth
And ignite the drive to learn sooth
To grow, to make a change we need her
And transform our world with this seer
It’s a gift, a treasure a lifelong friend
In which we all must tend to the end
Oh; transformation thrive in our togetherness
And strive in our wholesome ruggedness
And ignite yet the drive to learn
When we see it as a key to grow among men
To bridge the gaps and open new doors
To unlock the chains of ignorance shores.
How do we change our world?
How do we impact our world?
How do we leave legacy for the unborn?
Only through our records of invention born
This only gotten in learning bond.
