In what looks like an unpleasant start, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has rescheduled its examinations’ candidates who could not sit on the first day of commencement following technical glitches.
Fabian Benjamin, the Head of Public Affairs and Protocol at JAMB, disclosed this on Tuesday after a management meeting.
The exam body said 100 out of 708 centres participating in the 2023 UTME nationwide experienced technical challenges.
Meanwhile, to calm the nerves of Students and Parents, JAMB reiterated its commitment that the body would not deny any candidate the right to participate.
“Following the announcement, candidates, who could not take the examination for technical reasons, are to print a new notification early tomorrow morning, Wednesday, April 26 2023, to know their new scheduled sessions.
“It is to be noted that about 100 out of the 708 centres participating in the 2023 UTME exercise across the country experienced technical challenges that prevented their allotted candidates from successfully taking their examination”.
“Meanwhile, the Board assures Nigerians that no candidate would be denied the right of taking his/her examination because, in case of any challenges experienced, such a candidate would be rescheduled to take the examination in the next available date and space”, he stated.
The Exam kickstarted on April 25 and will run until May 2, 2023, to qualify candidates for various tertiary institutions.
However, candidates experienced similar challenges during last Month’s Mock examination.
