Our Projects

50% of world out of school children are Nigerians and with the increased rate of poverty and insurgency, especially in Northern Nigeria, there are more displaced children prone to child labour. The National Bureau of Statistics also says about 50.8% of Nigerian children, aged between 5 and 17, are involved in child labor (UNICEF 2018) and the child labour prevalence in the North central is 56.8%.

We are addressing the SDG 4, target 4.1 which is to ensure completion of primary and secondary education of boys and girls and SDG 8, target 8.7 which is on eradicating child labour. By taking the children back to school, we will increase school enrollment of children in our community, which will in turn increase literacy level, reduce the number of out of school children around us who are prone to child labour with effects on the children such as: fatigue, improper socialization and development, exposure to risk of sexual abuse, high likelihood of being involved in crime and emotional instability, which will ultimately, have long term negative effects on the community and the entire nation.

This Project is therefore aimed at supporting the education of children who are unable to further their education due to their poor family background. We are taking children off the streets and ensuring that they are enrolled back to school and are aided to remain in school. We will also ensure that the children’s development is holistic by not only seeing to their academic progress and general wellbeing but also conduct yearly life development and leadership trainings, to see that the children are groomed and mentored rightly unto a balanced adulthood.

Our Life development and leadership trainings is to cater for the emotional and psychological wellbeing and stability of these children to enable them strive better in the society.

This Project caters for enrolment fees, school uniforms, textbooks, notebooks for maximum concentration in school, including yearly trainings.

In line with our vision, mission and the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4; which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, and our desire to see the level of illiteracy reduced drastically and that children irrespective of location or background have a chance to be educated, we launched the Lift Empowerment Scholarship Project.
